STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
I want to create an interactive site that helps users learn and remember how to remove stains from their clothing. I feel that if I create a site that helps people actually learn and commit this information to memory they will be able to take the right steps before the stains set in. 

TARGET AUDIENCE
Young adults, 18-32, who are learning how to do laundry and know how to salvage their clothing incase they do have stains.

INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES
There will be video tutorials, a step by step guide, some graphic illustrations and quizzes to test whether the user has really learned the material. There will be a print out with a list of the instructions as well.  I was also suggested to create a persona for this blog. I would like to use an animal for the persona, possibly a bear or octopus. Something to keep it more gender neutral. 

SIMILAR SITES
Most of the websites about stain removal are not interactive. They simply list the steps. The website that had the most interactivity and was well designed was the Tide Stain Brain site. I like that they use icons as well as different ways to view the categories. However, like the other sites the instructions are just a couple lines of text. Another thing that I noticed about their site is that they recommended their products but I would like to create a site that offers ways of stain removal using already owned household items rather than specific items you have to purchase.
